The Carried Away
We are interested in receiving submissions from any writer regarding any subject matter. Nothing is too taboo or too abstract.
All forms of writing are embraced here, whether it’s poetry, short stories, reviews, essays, or something entirely unique to you.
We value quality of writing, but The Carried Away is also a platform where writers early in their career can explore their voice.
Our team will go through each submission and see how it best fits into The Carried Away.

Submission Guidelines
We accept:
Poetry(temporarily closed)- Short Stories
- Full Length Manuscripts
- Creative Non-Fiction
- Multi-Media Reviews
We ask that you give us 2-3 weeks to respond to each submission with an acknowledgment of acceptance or otherwise. If your submission is accepted for publication on our platform, one of our editors will be in touch with you to discuss moving forward. This process may extend to 3 weeks or more.
We ask that pieces be submitted as either a Word document or PDF. Please do not add the text in the body of the email, but in a separate document. If you want to include a short author bio (no more than 100 words) please include this in the same document as your piece(s).
If submitting more than one piece of poetry, please include all pieces in one document.
Although there is not maximum word count, please be mindful that texts over 5,000 words will be processed in 6 weeks to two months.
When submitting, please save your document as “Title. Your name. Date of submission”.
